Writing comes in many forms. We start with the basics, such as spelling  and word choice to create a detailed, coherent sentence. As we build on, we work towards paragraph writing through various formats. This year students will be working through various forms, such as:

* Persuasive Writing
* Letter Writing
* Narrative Writing
* Creative Stories in Different Genres
* Poetry
* Report Writing
* Procedural Writing
* Recounts
* Descriptive Writing

Through these various forms, students also learn about the writing process (drafts, editing, final editions). Students will be provided with Success Criteria to ensure they include all the aspects of what good writers do in Grade 1-3.

Also a big part of our writing program, is our Word Work and Spelling program. These activities will be described in more detail through the monthly newsletters.
