Today, we had the pleasure of meeting our penpals from Little Falls Public School. We have been writing back and forth since Christmas time and having a blast getting mail from our new friends. We invited them to a video conference so we could see them in real life! We sent them a care package to open today with a treat for each of them! And we got a special delivery to have to open as well from them! It was fun to see our penpals and maybe one day we will get to meet in person! Thank you to Mrs. Brodhagen's 1B class for working with us to be better writers and make a friend along the way.
Welcome!!
Welcome to the Grade 1/2 Busy Bee classroom blog!! We are so excited you have joined us in our learning journey! Mrs. Herbert is super excited about all the wonderful learners buzzing in our classroom!

The Important Thing About Speaking
Our class has read Margaret Wise Brown's 'The Important Book' the past week. The book has a regular pattern that we recognize and have been finding the important things about ideas in our lives, following the same pattern.
The Grade 1/2 Busy Bees have been discussing what good speakers do when we share our thinking with others. Mrs. Herbert has demonstrated what maybe speakers shouldn't do in a bit of a funny example with her 'Me Bag’ sharing. From that, we created a list of what we think good speakers do and created a new page for the book 'The Important Book':
We hope this helps as we prepare for our special 'Me Bag’ sharing that is coming up soon! Information came home today to start gathering our three special items and practice what we want to share following our ideas above. Looking forward to hearing what is important to each and every student to get to know them better!

Our class has read Margaret Wise Brown's 'The Important Book' this week. The book has a regular pattern that we recognize and have been finding the important things about ideas in our lives, following the same pattern.
We have used the inspiration that everyone is unique and have drawn our self portraits and working to finish them up to post them in the hallway. We are certainly proud of how each and every one of us is like no one else and that we all have things that make us special. Soon, we will be meeting our Learning Buddies and will be sharing with them 'The Important Thing About Me' with an All About Me poster.
