Our class has read Margaret Wise Brown's 'The Important Book' this week. The book has a regular pattern that we recognize and have been finding the important things about ideas in our lives, following the same pattern.
First, we started with the important thing about things in our classrooms and then about ourselves. We have drawn some important things about ourselves that are posted up in the hallway on our 'All About Me' posters. We have also used the inspiration that everyone is unique and have drawn our self portraits and posted them in the hallway as well. We are certainly proud of how each and every one of us is like no one else and that we all have things that make us special.
The Grade 1/2 Busy Bees have been discussing what good speakers do when we share our thinking with others. Ms. King demonstrated what maybe speakers shouldn't do in a bit of a funny example with her 'Me Bag’ sharing. From that, we created a list of what we think good speakers do and created a new page for the book 'The Important Book':
