Our Recycling Learning

Yesterday, we participated in an assembly with Wendy from the Bluewater Recycling Plant. She taught us some really good tips and tricks about why and how to recycle. We would like to share our learning with you.

* I learned that you cannot recycle banana peels. (Bridget)
* I learned that you can only recycle two types of metal. (Ryan)
* You can recycle plastic water bottles. (Logan)
* I learned that you can recycle glass bottles. (Landon)
* I learned that you cannot recycle milk cartons. (Hannah)
* I learned that you cannot recycle construction paper. (Ewan)
* We recycle because we don't want to litter. (Eleanor)
* Landfills are giant places to litter. We need to reduce the amount that goes to our landfill. That's why we need to recycle. (Ms. King)
* Bring plastic containers in your lunch pail instead of garbage. (Leia)
* Instead of bringing juice boxes, you could pour juice into a metal water bottle. (Liam)
* We recycle to keep the world healthy. (Matthew)
* We put recycling in the recycling bin that have the three arrows with a number. (Selena and Ms. King)

Wow we have some changes to make here at school! We have a goal to pay more attention to what we do so we can do our part.

Thanks to Wendy for coming!
