Our First Week in the Busy Bee Classroom!

We are so excited to be in the Busy Bee classroom! We have had a fantastic week getting to know each other and jump into new learning for grade 1/2!

Here are some ideas about what each Busy Bee has enjoyed about their first week back at school.
  • I liked that we got to go on the ipads to play on IXL. (Sylvie) 
  • I like that we get to have our own desk and our own books. (Landon)
  • I like that we get to have spirit bees and talk about stuff together. (Bridget)
  • I like about school is that we get to play. (Jessica)
  • I like that we get to go for recess outside first. (Harper)
  • The thing I like about the Busy Bee classroom is playing with the math buckets. (Matthew)
  • I like about the Busy Bee classroom is that we choose our own books. (Ewan)
  • What I like about the Busy Bee class is doing numbers. (Avaleigh)
  • What I like about the Busy Bee class is that we have marbles. (Edwin)
  • I like that we hang our backpacks and coats on our chairs. (Ryan)
  • I like playing on the swings. (Benjamin)
  • I like how we get to go outside for gym. (Leia)
  • I like spelling because we get to learn new words. (Logan)
  • I get to play with some games. (Sydney) 
  • I like Grade 1/2 because I can play with all my friends. (Hannah)
  • What I like about the class is art because I like to draw and paint. (Scarlett)
We have:
  • got to know one another
  • practiced writing numbers
  • learned a new rap
  • learned some new games
  • started to learn about repeating patterns
  • started to learn how to read a graph
  • learn how to read the temperature
  • started a giant spelling test
  • started our reading centers
  • wrote about our first day of school
  • done some colouring
  • learned the classroom rules
  • met some new friends
  • learned how to keep our classroom tidy after play time
  • met Ms. King
  • learned some of the routines in Grade 1/2
  • learned that 'I Can't' is a swear word
  • had a 'snowball' fight
We are excited to be together as Busy Bees and look forward to all the new fun and interesting things we are going to learn to do!







What a great week we have had and what a positive mindset to start our school year off!
