Today marks the 100th day in Grade 1/2 and we were celebrating with some great activities throughout the day!
We got our bodies moving with what we can do in one hundred seconds. You may have seen this sheet come home. We practiced estimating and learning a little about what one second vs 100 seconds feels like while getting our bodies active.
In math, we have been learning about money and we each got 100cents to spend at our 100th Day store for a little shopping spree! Students were selective off different items to spend their money on and had to budget what they were eyeing up at the store. Hope everyone enjoyed the 100's Day Shopping Spree!!!
We read some great books the last few days about the 100th Day of School to celebrate. We love the 'Night Before' series and enjoyed that the day before our 100th Day celebrations. In writing, we wrote what we would want 100 of and what we would not want 100 of. Those were some pretty interesting super sentences. We are working on remembering to include COPPSS every time we write so this was some good practice. We also did our 100 days making words! We are getting pretty creative in how to make words with letters! We are seeing more complex spelling patterns and applying some of the words we have learned this year! Way to go, Busy Bees!
What a great day celebrating how much smarter we are now that we have come to school for 100 days in Grade 1/2!!
