Are You Ready for Weather Days?

 

Ready or not, it’s time to prep for possible bus delays, cancellations, and school closures due to weather. Places to get information:

* Bookmark https://hpsts.mybusplanner.ca/Alerts for cancellation notices that you can refer to * Download the BusPlanner Delays app to stay updated with your school and bus route through notifications

* Murphy's Bus Line will post directly on Facebook if you follow/like their page 

* Alerts will come through school messenger as soon as possible from the school adminstration

As a board directive, the school will try to remain open as much as possible, even if the buses are cancelled (for am &/or pm routes), for those that can arrive safely to drop their children off at 8:50am and for regular pick up at 3:15pm. Some staff members, may not be able to arrive so there may be a collapse of classes for supervision purposes. Teachers have been directed, for those students that can’t arrive at school, to post work for completion at home that is completed asynchronously (no Google Meet/live requirements). Please see the blog Homework & Reminders on these days. 

However, there will be days that the school will close, and as mandated, teachers will be asked to post schoolwork for home completion that is completed asynchronously (no Google Meet/live requirements). With little people, I will email the parents the same information for work completion and will also be posted on the blog & to Google Classroom on school closure weather days.

I realize that all families have their own decisions to make with their own circumstances around these types of days and what technology is available to the family can vary. Work completion will be up to you with what you choose to do with that work. Work posted will be practice work or extra activities but will not be assessed or required completion during the weather days. Time will be provided at school for any required work completion.
